Malik again succeeds in wooing MQM

Published Updated

All issues between Pakistan People's Party and Muttahida Qaumi Movement seem to have been resolved, a private TV channel reported. President Asif Ali Zardari and Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad held a meeting late Monday to discuss the issues between the two parties. President Zardari and Dr Ibad decided to continue the policy of reconciliation in larger interest of the country.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik as usual played key role in wooing MQM and making the meeting successful. He called on MQM Quaid Altaf Husain in London and assured him that all MQM reservations would be addressed. President's spokesman Farhatullah Babar, who was also present at the Zardari-Ibad meeting, said that the meeting was held in cordial atmosphere. Both the parties decided that stern action would be taken against criminals and the policy of reconciliation will continue.
