SIUT volunteers have organised a spring festival taking place all day at the PAF museum (Sharah-e-Faisal) on Sunday. Over 2400 students have participated in volunteer training and work with Dr Adib Rizvi and his team at SIUT, some of them logging over 1000 hours with the institution.
Volunteers passionately believe that serving the community is an essential part of life. They are keen to highlight the message that people can and do make a difference every day.
Eager to contribute and learn, they have found a means to do so through SIUT and their enthusiasm, has led to this Spring Festival. Working tirelessly and engaging with schools, musicians, performers and food vendors, in collaboration with the volunteer service department, they have tried to ensure that everyone attending not only enjoys the day but also leaves with renewed hope and commitment to new beginnings - the very essence of spring.
The aim of the festival has also been to create awareness about the student volunteers at SIUT and to encourage their peers to think about social service.
Such programs are needed for the development of the society and helps encouragement, character building of the generation that has to build the nation in future. SIUT has successfully inculcated the philosophy into the youth, which is being translated as positive activism.-PR
