Vice President, Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Ziauddin has said that all objections and allegations of the Businessmen Panel regarding renewal of the chamber's memberships have been rejected. Talking to Business Recorder, here on Sunday, he said that all members are being treated equally and no special favours are being given to any group.
He said that Secretary General HCCI Dr Muhammad Ali Chang is an honest impartial, competent and sincere worker, adding that he was serving at the post even when the Businessmen Panel was in power and no one had any complain against him. He said that all allegations levelled against the Secretary General were baseless and totally rejected.
Ziauddin said that it was pointed out during the fourth meeting of the Executive Committee held on 27th January, 2011 that some members of the chamber are no more alive and in certain cases, NTN numbers of some members were changed by Federal Board of Revenue and the office is facing problems in renewal of their memberships. The committee has noted that it is necessary to correct the record of the chamber and do away with unrealistic memberships during the renewal of memberships.
The committee, therefore, has decided to renew memberships up to 31 March, 2011 in accordance with Articles 9 and 10 of the Memorandum and Articles of Association of HCCI, and the member firms, in compliance with Income Tax Ordinance 2001, Section 165, may bring with them the original receipt for Annual Income Tax Return for the tax year 2010 or an attested copy of Income Tax Return for the year 2010. In-case of Corporate Class, a copy of previous month's Sales Tax return duly attested be furnished for renewal of membership and a copy of identity card of the representative of the firm may be deposited along with renewal fee, he added.
