LHC moved against DG NAB's appointment

Published Updated

The appointment of Acting Director General, National Accountability Bureau (Punjab), Rana Zahid Mehmood has been challenged before the Lahore High Court. The petitioner Shah Faisal Farooq, through his counsel Muhammad Azhar Siddique, submitted that Rana Mehmood, a former judge of the LHC, was appointed on contract violating rules and regulations. He was appointed after his removal from the judiciary following a Supreme Court verdict.
The petitioner contended that the SC had declared the contract appointment as against the law and constitution, therefore, the appointment is also in violation of the decision.
