Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS) has awarded PAS Gold Medal to Professor Dr Khalid M. Khan, a senior scientist at International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), Karachi University, in recognition of his services in the field of Chemistry, spokesman to ICCBS said in a statement, here on Saturday.
Dr Khan is considered one of the senior most scientists at the ICCBS. He is busy with research and academic activities at HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, KU, for the last many years, spokesman further said. Professor Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui KU vice-chancellor, Professor Dr Atta-ur-Rehman Co-ordinator General COMSTECH and Professor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary Director ICCBS have congratulated, Dr Khan for his achievements, and said that his achievements were an honour not only for the ICCBS but also for the whole university.
Dr Khan has written two books and contributed to around 250 research papers in journals of international repute. Meanwhile, the government of Pakistan also honoured him earlier with a Tamgha-i-Imtiaz in recognition of his remarkable performance in the field of chemistry.
