Pakistan Steel has terminated the services of Imtiaz Khan Lohdi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), as he failed to present his education documents. Pakistan Steel Mills'' board of directors meeting was held here on Saturday and chaired by Fazalullah Qureshi. During the meeting several decisions including the one relating to the termination of services of Imtiaz Lohdi, were taken.
The suspended CEO was directed by the Board of Directors to present himself before the board with his education documents. However he failed to prove his qualification. Consequently, the board of directors decided to remove him from the job with immediate effect. The meeting re-elected Fazalullah Qureshi as chairman of the board.
The meeting also approved the accounts for the year 2009-2010, budget for the current fiscal year 2010-2011 and a five-year business plan. In addition, a high level committee was formed to appoint a qualified CEO for the Pakistan Steel to run it on professional basis. The board also approved plan for Gulshan-e-Hadeed phase-4 for the workers of Pakistan Steel Mills. The meeting was attended by acting CEO Wasif Mehmood, Engineer Daro Khan, Sheikh Imran-ul-Haq, Shamshad Qureshi, Engineer Abdul Jabbar Memon, Muhammad Eijaz Chudary and Muhammad Jaweed Awan.
