The Karachi Port handled 110,144 tonnes of cargo including 58,355 tonnes of import cargo, 51,789 tonnes of export cargo and 4,637 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 58,355 tonnes comprised of 14,003 tonnes of containerised cargo and 3,224 tonnes of general cargo; 1,128 tonnes of rock phosphate and 40,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 51,789 tonnes comprised of 38,891 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,593 tonnes of general cargo; 11,305 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,177 tonnes of cement and 8,128 tonnes of wheat. Four ships namely Hanjin Rome, Bux Melody, Saigon Express and President Adams with four container ships sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Three vessels viz Alpine Penelope, Abadeh and Ts Tokyo carrying two oil tankers and containers respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Ocean Success, CSL Ride and Ts Tokyo carrying general cargo and two container ships respectively expected to sail on Friday, while three ships namely Mitra Bhum, Abadeh and Hiba Al-Noor B with containers, crude oil and cement respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
Six vessels viz Royal Aqua, Cardonia, Salis, APL Guangzhou, Ocean Friend and Laconia carrying vegetable oil, three container ships, coal and canola seeds respectively due to arrive on Friday, while five vessels viz MSC Anafi, MOL Success, Jasper Arrow, Integrity and Sea Tiger-1 with two container ships, two vehicles carriers and sulphur seeds respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.
A total number of eight vessels viz CV OOCL Kobe, MV Free Envoy, MV Ina Lotte, MV Aquila Voyager, MV Alfa Nourios, MV Iolcos Vision, MT Marilena and MT Bunger Aster are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, urea, chemicals, coal and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely Four Bay, Sound Future, Hina Golden, Safe Marine Cunene and Sapphire carrying furnace oil, rice, iron ore, containers and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV Safe Marine Cunene, CV MSC Oslo, MT Four Bay and MV Hina Golden carrying containers, furnace oil and iron ore respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Iron Ore & Coal Berth respectively on Friday. A container ship namely CV Saudi Tabuk is due to arrive on Saturday.
