World sugar prices to remain depressed next year

Raw sugar prices in 2018 will behave similarly to those in 2017, but may push to lower lows under 12 cents per lb.

The world sugar market will see surplus of around 6 million tonnes in 2017/18.

Excess supplies from the European Union will keep the white sugar market depressed, with overhangs of around 300,000 tonnes of exports per month.
