Role of women in society highlighted

Sindh Minister for Social Welfare, Nargis N.D. Khan, has said that women are important part of the society and that they have responsibilities of bringing up, training of our coming generations. This she stated while addressing as a chief guest at a ceremony of sewing machines distribution among flood affected women who got vocational training at Social Welfare Institute Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
The ceremony was organised by the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), says an official here on Tuesday. She said that the present government has taken steps for ensuring the rights of women and making them productive citizen of the society. She pointed out that in this connection, the Sindh Assembly has also passed a resolution for the rights of women.
Nargis N.D. Khan paid rich tributes to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto who empowered the women and provided the opportunities to enable them to make progress. That's the reason that a woman is the speaker of National Assembly and the Deputy Speaker in Sindh Assembly is also a woman while women are being appointed at important posts and it proved that revolutionary changes continued in the society.
