At least five persons including a minor boy were killed in separate incidents in various parts of the metropolis here on Tuesday. According to details, a two-year-old boy drowned in water tank of his house located in Macchar Colony in the limits of Docks police station. The victim, Mohammad Zeeshan, son of Azam drowned in the underground water tank while playing in his house.
Rescue teams and area people rushed to the spot and recovered his body, which was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for legal formalities. A body bearing torture marks was found from Charanji Goth within the limits of Ibrahim Hyderi police station. The victim, who was identified as Abul Rehman, 42, son of Mohammad Omar, was the resident of Charanji Goth Ibrahim Hyderi. Police said his body was found from the bushes located in the same area.
They said the deceased was watchman of Charanji Goth and he was also a fisherman by profession. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico legal formalities and later handed over to heirs. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A drug addict was killed by another drug addict near Cloth Market in the limits of Kharadar police station. The incident took place near Cloth Market Kharadar police check post, where two drug addict Naeem, 17 and Asghar, 16, started fighting each other. Resultantly both sustained bullet injuries. Police shifted them to CHK, where Asghar succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
A woman was crushed to death near Manzoor Colony in the jurisdiction of Bahadurabad police station. The victim, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, was hit by a speedy vehicle while crossing the road near Baloch Colony railway track. Resultantly, she died on the spot. The driver managed to flee. Police shifted her body to JPMC for legal formalities and later moved the body to Edhi Morgue for identification.
In another incident, a real estate agent was shot dead at his shop near Jauhar More in the limits of Gulistan Jauhar police station. The incident took place at block 7 Gulistan Jauhar where the victim Munawar Iqbal, 42, son of Iqbal Ahmed, was targeted by four unknown armed men when he was standing outside his estate agency, MM Marketing.
Munawar succumbed to his injuries during treatment at private hospital. Police said the victim, who was the resident of Safora Goth and used to run a estate agency in Gulistan Jauhar, had business-related disputes with his competitor. They said this could be a cause of his murder. His body was shifted to JPMC for medico legal formalities. No case was registered till filing of this report.
