Tarnol Police arrested six persons including a lady smuggler for their alleged involvement in drug pushing activities and possessing illegal weapons, recovering 2.65kg charas, two Kalashnikovs, one pistol (30-bore), 85 bullets from their possession, said Naeem Iqbal, spokesman of Islamabad here on Monday.
He said that on the special instructions of Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Dr Khuram Rasheed, SHO Tarnol, Fazalur Rehman constituted a special team, which succeeded in arresting the criminals during special checking. The nabbed persons were identified as Muhammad Asim s/o Umer Khitab of Nowshera, Abdual Razzaq s/o Mehr Muhammad of Shahdad Kot, Zulfiqar Hussain s/o Hikmat Shah of Khaniwal, Zaheer Ahmed s/o Shafi Muahmmad of Mirpur and Quwat Khan.
Sabzi Mandi Police nabbed a lady smuggler namely Saira Bibi during a routine checking and on search 2.65kg charas was recovered from her possession. Separate cases were registered against the detainees and further investigation is underway, the spokesman said.
