In the prevailing macro-economic environment condition of tight monetary policy with limited access to high debt cost funding, there has been no better time for company's requiring funds to aim for equity market for raising funding in more efficient and cost effective way, said Chief Executive Officer of AKD Securities Limited, Muhammad Farid Alam.
He was briefing the members of the Lahore Stock Exchange on 'Continuous Professional Development Programmes' He highlighted the responsibilities of members towards while advising their clients for investment in new stock issues. The focus of this initiative is to facilitate members in expanding scope of their businesses from traditionally being retail brokerage houses to full fledge investment banking services providers.
The programmes will enable them to offer a wide array of services such as research, asset valuation, assets and portfolio management, IPO advisory, mergers and acquisitions and market making. The programmes will allow the members to compete in today's dynamic and evolving financial markets of Pakistan. Programmes focusing on enhancing financial literacy among the LSE members will also be arranged so that they might be able to fully comprehend the potential of more complex Exchange Traded Products for the benefit of investors, Exchange and the capital market of the country.
Empirical studies have shown that there is strong relation between companies aiming to list at the Exchange with increased awareness of listing and supportive mechanism available for listing. He also shared his experience of recent IPOs and highlighted the importance and benefits of listing to the Exchange and members alike in the form of increased visibility, wealth creation from increased trading volumes and other windfall benefits leading to an enabling environment for both investors and companies choosing to float their shares on domestic stock exchange.-PR
