The Lahore Stock Exchange is holding pre-launching awareness sessions on Margin Trading System (MTS) and Securities Lending & Borrowing (SLB) System for the market investors from March 8 to 10 at LSE auditorium. The purpose of these sessions is to introduce and familiarise the participants on the operational aspects and regulatory features of these leverage products.
Amendments in the regulatory framework required for introduction of MTS and SLB have already been approved and the products will be available at the exchanges from 14th March 2011, a spokesman of LSE said, here on Monday. According to him, the new leverage product MTS has been finalised after extensive consultation with members, financial institutions, CDC, NCCPL, exchanges and regulators and is eagerly awaited by the participants. The product is in line with the international leverage products and differs significantly from its predecessor CFS-Mk II, which was discontinued in 2008.
