The President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon on Tuesday would meet Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza and Chairman Senate Farooq H Naik at Parliament House, it is learnt. According to the sources, they are likely to discuss increase in parliamentarian co-ordination between the two countries and co-operation and investment in hydropower generation, trade, energy sector, medicine, education, transport and communication, besides ways to jointly combat international terrorism.
The President accompanied by 90 members delegation including businessmen that will interact with Pakistani counterparts to explore ways and means of co-operation between the private sectors of both the countries. The two sides would explore the economic potential for further diversification of bilateral ties.
They also discussed trade between the two counties through Wakhan strip passing through Afghanistan. The sources said that Afghanistan has agreed to enable a road link between Pakistan and Tajikistan through Wakhan strip to facilitate the eventual Trilateral Transit Trade Agreement among the three countries, it is learnt.
