Professor Dr Khalid M. Khan, a senior scientist of the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), Karachi University (KU), has been elected as Fellow of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS).
The decision was taken by the PAS General Body in its meeting, held few months back. Spokesman to ICCBS, in a statement, said that Dr Khan, working in the laboratories of HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, KU, is considered one of the senior most scientists of the ICCBS.
He said, "KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, Co-ordinator General Comstech Professor Dr Atta-ur-Rahman and Director ICCBS Professor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhary have congratulated Dr Khan on his remarkable achievement, and said that this achievement was an honour not only for the ICCBS but also for the whole University."
Dr Khan is an active scientist who has written two books that have been published internationally and around 250 research papers in journals of international repute. Conversely, the government of Pakistan has already honoured him with Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in recognition of his remarkable performance in the field of chemistry.-PR
