Islamabad Police have busted a gang of motorcycle lifters and recovered four motorcycles from their possession, while 120 proclaimed offenders were also nabbed last month. The spokesman of Islamabad Police, Naeem Iqbal said that Shalimar Police on Tuesday nabbed two motorcycle lifters and recovered four motorbikes from their possession.
Superintendent Police (Saddar), Dr Khuram Rasheed had directed ASP, Faisal Bashir Memon to arrest the outlaws and curb the incidents. Following the orders, the police team succeeded to arrest two accused persons identified as Muhammad Waqas, son of Khan Gul and Faisal Suleman, son of Adul Rehman, both residents of Peshawar. Four motorcycles were also recovered from the alleged outlaws that confessed of selling 17 motorcycles in Peshawar after lifting them from various areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The spokesman said that police have obtained their physical remand from the concerned court and further investigation is underway. Also, a case regarding theft of motorbike from Street No 8, House No 459, Sector G-10/1 was registered with Shalimar Police Station on February 25. Inspector General of Police, Islamabad Wajid Ali Durrani and Senior Superintendent Police Islamabad, Tahir Alam Khan have appreciated the performance of the team of Shalimar police station and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates.
Meanwhile, Islamabad Police nabbed 120 proclaimed offenders during its ongoing crackdown against outlaws, Iqbal added. He said that IGP Islamabad assigned the task to the officials to ensure arrest of proclaimed offenders and inform on daily basis about any success in this regard.
Kohsar Police arrested 10 proclaimed offenders and court absconders, Aabpara Police arrested such four outlaws, Secretariat Police and Bhara Kahu Police nabbed nine and eight such outlaws respectively during this period. Similarly, Margallah Police arrested 15 proclaimed offenders and court absconders, while Shalimar Police arrested 11 outlaws and Tarnol Police and Industrial Area Police apprehended two and five such criminals respectively during the last 30 days.
Likewise, Sabzi Mandi, Shehzad town Nilore, Sihala and Koral nabbed two, 24, six, 16 and three proclaimed offenders and court absconders respectively. Anti-Car Lifting Cell and CIA police, also, contributed in the ongoing crackdown and arrested six persons who had been at large for a long time due to their involvement in the crime of various nature.
