Unidentified terrorists attacked Girls College Lund Khawar, district Mardan with hand grenade injuring 35 students, including a teacher and a passer-by identified as Faras Khan. The wounded girls have been rushed to District Headquarters Hospital, Mardan and Lund Khawar hospital for first aid. The students were later left the hospitals.
According to details, the students were busy in a party held for third-year students of the college when terrorists riding on two motorcycles and lobbed two hand grenades in front of the gate of the college. The grenades exploded with bang resulting in injuring of 35 students and a teacher. The injured students were rushed to hospitals where 17 wounded girls were discharged after provision of first aid. The critically injured girls were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital, Mardan.
The critically injured students have been identified as Tayyaba Islam d/o of Islamuddin, resident of Lund Khawar, S.R d/o Sahib Rehman, Sidra d/o Javed, Neelam d/o Murad residents of Lund Khawar and Safia, whose father's name could not be ascertained. The critically injured were also included a teacher wife of the Dr Fazal Hanif while a passer-by Faras Khan was also included in the injured.
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussein has condemned grenade attack on the girls college Lund Khawar and saying that those targeting innocent girls students could neither be called Pakhtuns, Muslims and even humans. Talking to media here at Mardan Medical Complex and District Headquarters Hospital, he said that the blood of the innocent girls would not go in waste and war against terrorists would continue till their complete elimination. He inquired about the health of the injured girls students.
