Two bogies of Lahore bound Quetta Express as well as its engine were derailed as the train hit a heavy machinery vehicle on an unmanned crossing near Liaquatpur railway station, about 90 kms from here on Monday morning causing death of one passenger and injuries to 15 others.
According to DSP Liaquatpur Chaudhry Mahmood Ahmed, the accident occurred at 'Rashidabad Phattak' where there is level unmanned and gate-less rail crossing. He said the derailment caused death of a passenger Hassan while 15 others sustained injuries.
