Pakistanis returning from Libya: special counters at airports to be set up
Interior Ministry has directed Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Immigration and Passports Department to ensure separate counters to facilitate the people coming from strife-torn Libya. A high-level meeting held in Interior Ministry to discuss the ways and means for Pakistanis returning from Libya, which was attended by Officials of foreign ministry, interior ministry and ministry of labour and manpower.
They discussed the problems being faced by Pakistanis stranded in Libya, where opposition forces fighting with Gaddafi military for taking control of the government. Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik has issued orders to the institutions to set up separate counters for the Pakistanis returning from Libya, Interior Ministry sources said on Monday.
Officials at all airports of the country should ensure quick processing of the people coming from Libya and allow them to go homes after they provide their personal information, the Minister also directed. He also asked the Immigration and Passports Department to provide travel documents to Pakistanis stranded in Libya free of cost.
