Minister to inaugurate uplift projects in Sialkot

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan would be accorded a rousing welcome on her arrival in Sialkot on Sunday and necessary arrangements in this regard have been finalised. The federal minister will inaugurate different projects pertaining to people welfare soon after her arrival in NA-111 constituency.
It is Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan that initiated facilities like Sui gas, electricity, health, education and means of communication in the remote and neglected areas of NA-111 of Sialkot district. More than rupees three billion have so far been spent on electricity, Sui gas, health and means of communication projects in the area while several projects were in pipeline.
The minister has become most popular leader of Sialkot after accomplishment of record development work in a short span of time in her constituency. In the recent past, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Nadra swift centre was set up to facilitate the women folk of NA-111. A regular functioning of Nadra swift centre had lessened travelling difficulties confronted by them and now the facility of computerised identity cards has been made available at their doorstep.
Prime Minister, Yousaf Raza Gilani has already sectioned six buses on the demand of Dr Firdous Awan for girl students belonging to different rural areas of NA-111. Some students while expressing their views said that they are happy and grateful to Dr Firdous on the provision buses as a result of which they can reach colleges on time as well as continue higher education because there was no degree college in NA-111.
It may be added that Dr Firdous Awan is making adequate efforts for bringing the politically neglected and ignored far-off rural areas of NA-111 to bring them at par with the developed parts of Sialkot district. It is expected that she will announce some mega projects in a public meeting.
