Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 90,961 tonnes of cargo including 36,403 tonnes of import cargo, 54,558 tonnes of export cargo and 3,253 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 36,403 tonnes comprised of 13,018 tonnes of containerised cargo 3,385 tonnes of canola seeds and 20,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 54,558 tonnes comprised of 33,497 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,911 tonnes of general cargo; 14,950 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,893 tonnes of cement; 13,057 tonnes of wheat and 4,200 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely Rio Grand Express, Kota Arif, Abdullalatif-S and HS Challenger with two container ships, cement and container ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Kota Arif, OEL Trust, Iron Monger-5, Blossom and C Duke carrying two container ships, two oil tankers and wheat respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Hanjin Berlin, Blossom and Rising OM carrying containers, ethanol and naphtha respectively expected to sail on Friday, while four ships namely OEL Trust, Al-Jaber-70, Iron Monger-5 and Siam Star with container ship, general cargo, crude oil and wheat respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
Five vessels viz Woojin Emerald, Eastern Force, OOCL Dalian, APL Chicago and Se Verdigris carrying chemicals, Mogas, two container ships and steel coils respectively due to arrive on Friday, while seven vessels viz Al-Sabiyah, Moray, Shamrock Venus, TS Qingdao, Cape Manuel, Split and Atlanta Trina with HSD, jet oil, ethanol, two container ships, urea and project cargo respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

The total export cargo of 10,469 tonnes includes 2,068 tonnes of cement; 3,865 tonnes of wheat and 4,536 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two ships namely CV CSAV Ranco and MT Bunga Akasia sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while three more ships namely MT Dover, MT Kasugta and MT Lahore Express are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of eight vessels viz CV CSAV Jura, MT Lahore Express, Wales-II, MV Protector, MV Dover, Sea Baisen, MT Kasugta and MT Bunga Akasia are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, chemicals and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely Theresa Aries, Sea Baisen, Akaki, Quetta, Safmarine Cunene and MSC Jenny carrying edible oil, wheat, two furnace oil carriers and two container ships respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz MSC Jenny, Safmarine Cunene, Theresa Aries and Akaki carrying containers, edible oil and furnace oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday.
