Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Quaid Nawaz Sharif has decided in principle to open his party's doors to the run away Muslim Leaguers except for Chaudhry's of Gujrat. "Anyone who had to leave the party during Musharraf era due to coercion and threats of all kinds are welcome back to the PML-N," sources in the PML-N told Business Recorder while quoting Nawaz Sharif as having said during interaction with his party workers at his Model Town residence on Thursday.
Sources claimed that the PML-N leader, who is chairing his party's high-level meeting at Punjab House Islamabad, on Friday (today), is expected to formally announce about return of the Muslim Leaguers in the party fold besides parting ways with the PPP in the PML-N led Punjab government. The members of the central and provincial organising committees, Federal and Punjab parliamentary parties besides members of Unification bloc in the Punjab Assembly will attend the meeting.
Political analysts are of the view that Nawaz Sharif's decision to welcome all the Muslim Leaguers indicates that he is uniting all anti-PPP forces under his fold as a part of his strategy to draw battle lines for decisive round with the People's Party.
Addressing the party workers, Nawaz said that the PML-N has clear vision and programme and with the team of experts and dedicated workers across the country, we will steer the country out of prevailing crises. He said the PML-N was striving for corruption free Pakistan. "The independent judiciary, which was restored through a long march, is working for eradication of the menace of corruption," he said.
The PML-N Quaid maintained that those Muslim Leaguers who were forced to join hands of a dictator would be welcomed in the party fold. He said price hike, unemployment, load shedding, corruption and lawlessness are results of continuation of policies of Pervez Musharraf.
Nawaz also said that he had shown much patience during the last three years but PPP-led government showed indifferent attitude on important issues which deteriorated the country's situation. He also criticised President Asif Ali Zardari. Later, Nawaz also chaired a meeting of the PML-N Gilgit Baltistan. Addressing the meeting, he said the PML-N is the hope of nation. We will not disappoint the nation and tackle all the challenges with the support of people.
