The Chairman Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (RCCI) standing Committee for Marble Shoaib Hamid has demanded of the government that uninterrupted power supply must be provided to the marble industry and import duty of the machinery used in the said industry should be waived off for the betterment of the industry.
He said that marble industry could become the biggest industry for export's point of view if the necessary facilities for the government side be provided. He was addressing the standing committee meeting held here at the Chamber on Wednesday. President RCCI S Ali Raza Saeed Shah, Vice President Dr Shimail Daud, Vice Chairman of the committee Fazal Khaliq Langrial and other members of the committee were also present on the occasion. The Chairman said that world best marble exists in the Rawalpindi region, but owing to lack of interest from the government the region has failed to get international recognition. He said that Pakistan has great potential in marble industry, but it is need of the hour to take solid measures to promote the marble sector in the world.-PR
