Slight improvement in activity seen on grain market

Marginal improvement was seen in trading activity on the wholesale grain and seed market on Tuesday as some retailers showed fresh interest in purchasing to meet their urgent needs, dealers said. On the cereals side moong Punjab was quoted lower at Rs 9000-9250, masoor Canada also registered down at Rs 6500-6600, masoor dal Canada was trading at Rs 8000-8200.
Urad Burma was at Rs 3100-3200, wheat old Bardan (with bag) quoted at Rs 2660-2665 and wheat new Bardan (with bag) at Rs 2675-2680, they said. On the rice sector Irri-6 Sindh low type inched up with a gain of Rs 10 to Rs 3260 and best quality was higher by Rs 25 to Rs 3325, other items maintained the overnight levels, they said. On the seed side cotton seed oilcake low type was lower by Rs 10 to Rs 11250 while the good type retained the overnight level at Rs 1300, they said.
