RIM promises faster tablet this year

Published Updated

RIM, the Canadian company that makes the Blackberry, announced on February an upgrade to its tablet computers that will connect the newest device to super-fast fourth-generation networks this year. A RIM executive, Patrick Spence, said one new Playbook model would be able to connect to the internet via a WiFi network or via a docked Blackberry smartphone.
RIM has shaped the Playbook for business customers who have trouble reading a Blackberry and might appreciate its bigger 7-inch display to read emails or check their diaries.
