Sindh police on Saturday claimed to have killed an alleged bandit in an encounter near Mai Kolachi Bridge in the limits of Shersha police station. According to police, an alleged dacoit was killed by police party near Gulbai Chowk Mai Kolachi Bridge when he was busy in looting valuables from truck drivers.
They said that police had received the information from 15 Control Room that an alleged dacoit, who was later identified as Shahzad alias Shehzada son of Rafiq Baloch, was looting valuables from truck drivers. Reacting on the said information, the police rushed to the spot but the armed man tried to flee from the scene under the cover of straight firing.
However, the police retaliated on his said act, resultantly, he sustained bullet wounds. They said that he was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medical treatment where the doctors pronounced his death. Moreover, the police said they recovered a motorcycle and a TT pistol from his possession.
According to Station Officer of Shersha police station, the bandit, who was identified as Shahzad alias Shehzada son of Rafiq Baloch, was the resident of Swat Colony, Baldia Town. He further said the victim, who was earlier arrested in Maripur, was released from jail few months ago. He said that the police had registered a case in this regard while his body was handed over to his heirs.
