A group of focal persons of six directorates of distance education established by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to improve the quality of education at Graduate and Masters programmes visited Virtual University of Pakistan to experience and learn about the mode of education being delivered to the students enrolled in distance education by the Virtual University (VU).
The universities where the Directorates have been set-up including University of the Punjab, Peshawar, Karachi, Sindh, Gomal and Bahauddin Zakaria. The group was given presentation by Dr Sadaqat Mehdi, Registrar, Virtual University about VU achievements in distance learning. Sarmad Latif Mir, Deputy Controller Examination briefed the visitors about the VU Examination and Assessment System.
The group also visited the online examination, which was being conducted by the VU in different cities of Pakistan to witness the quality parameters being measured and monitored online. Javed Younis, Manager IT VU Virtual Information System shared information regarding the admission procedure, application registration verification and application form for admission. The group agreed to remain in touch with the VU while starting the same mode of education in their universities for the purpose of learning through experience sharing and capacity building.-PR
