Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 196,031 tonnes of cargo including 125,039 tonnes of import cargo, 70,992 tonnes of export cargo, 3,210 loaded and empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 125,039 tonnes comprised of 45,957 tonnes of containerised cargo and 3,020 tonnes of general cargo; 19,672 tonnes of bulk cargo: 8,034 tonnes of DAP; 11,938 tonnes of rock phosphate and 56,090 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 70,992 tonnes comprised of 51,572 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,942 tonnes of general cargo; 9,078 tonnes of bulk cargo: 659 tonnes of cement; 1,958 tonnes of wheat; 6,461 tonnes of gandum and 8,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Fourteen ships namely Hyundai Oakland, APL Pearl, Uhico Anna, Al-Wajba, Kota Akbar, James River Bridge, Ocean Promoter, Thana Bhum, Courageous Ace, Maetiga, Patriotic, Hua Tuo, Bunga Raya Empat and CSL Ride with containers, vehicles, petrol, chemicals, general cargo and containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Twelve vessels viz Kota Akbar, APL Pearl, TS Nagoya, Thana Bhum, Ocean Promoter, Lavender, New Baroness, Star Lucky, Patriotic, Abadeh, Wei Chi and Captain-T carrying containers, general cargo, oil tankers and wheat respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Abadeh, Union Hellen and Lavender carrying crude oil, DAP and containers expected to sail on Thursday, while two ships namely Thuringina Express and STX Patraikos with containers respectively are expected to sail on Friday. Two vessels viz Lodestar Genesis and Emirates Rafiki carrying chemicals and containers respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while six vessels viz Chemway Gaia, YM Asia, Courier, APL Sharjah, Medi Shanghai and Katherine with ethanol, containers, clinkers and wheat respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

The total import cargo of 131,637 tonnes includes 14,709 tonnes of furnace oil; 50,055 tonnes of diesel oil; 9,114 tonnes of chemicals; 34,059 tonnes of iron ore and 23,700 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 35,750 tonnes includes 14,822 tonnes of wheat and 20,928 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Two ships namely CV CMA CGM Onyx and MV Patriotic are expected to sail on Thursday. A total number of eight vessels viz CV CMA CGM Onyx, CV Saudi Diriyah, CV Aruni Rickmers, MV Khalid Bin Muhieddin, MV Dover, MV Patriotic, MV Diamond Falcon and MT Al-Salam-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, chemicals, iron Ore and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely Four Island, MSC Aurelie, New Delhi Express and Santa Paola carrying furnace oil and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV MSC Aurelie, CV New Delhi Express, CV Santa Paola and MT Four Island carrying furnace oil and containers respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
