The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has decided to develop and launch "Geographical Information System" (GIS) for the partner schools. The purpose of this project is to help identify partner schools' locations scattered in 29 districts across the province. It will also be helpful in ensuring consummate monitoring of the partner institutions.
Managing Director Punjab Education Foundation, Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani said this while briefing the two member UNICEF delegation comprising of education specialists, Tariq Saeed & Muqadsa Mehreen at his office on Tuesday. MD PEF informed that the proposed GIS Project will also be helpful in identifying school deficient areas in Punjab besides helping to identify suitable places for setting up news schools through public private partnership. PEF has also successfully ensured student-friendly environment in schools by introducing various interventions, he maintained.
Mohyuddin Wani also said that education for the juvenile offenders could also be launched after fulfilling necessary criterion. He said that PEF is helping the students in many ways; giving them quality education, augmentation of students' academic comprehension and now launching of skills development programme for the secondary schools students will further help them in their economic endeavours.
