The Foreign Office declared late Tuesday that Raymond Davis was a diplomat and appointed in the United States Embassy in Islamabad, a private TV channel reported. According to the channel, a letter has been sent to the law ministry informing it that Davis was a diplomat and appointed as a diplomat in the US Embassy.
Sources said that it is mentioned in the letter that Davis had diplomatic immunity and under the Vienna Convention notification of sender country was enough to consider any person a diplomat. However, sources in the law ministry have not confirmed any such letter, the channel added.
