The Karachi Port handled 207,928 tonnes of cargo including 117,490 tonnes of import cargo, 90,438 tonnes of export cargo, 5,824 loaded and empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 117,490 tonnes comprised of 93,309 tonnes of containerised cargo and 4,015 tonnes of general cargo; 17,242 tonnes of bulk cargo: 10,438 tonnes of DAP; 6,804 tonnes of rock phosphate and 2,924 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 90,438 tonnes comprised of 79,395 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,314 tonnes of general cargo; 6,679 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,155 tonnes of cement; 5,524 tonnes of gandum and 3,050 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Fifteen ships namely Liberty Pride, Oriental Kerria, Unico Anna, Bella, Fatima-1, Blossom, OEL Shreyas, OOCL Charleston, Daewoo Diamond, Sanko Bride, Shayan-1, APL Guangzhou, Bunga Raya Empat, Xuan De Men and CSL Ride with vehicles, oil tanker, wheat, cement, oil tanker, containers, oil tanker, tug and containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Ten vessels viz OEL Shreyas, MOL Seabreeze, Hyundai Oakland, James River Bridge, Bunga Raya Empat, APL Bresbane, Daewoo Diamond, POS Island, Sanko Bride and Mega Ace carrying containers, oil tanker, rock phosphate, tug and wheat respectively are currently at the berths. Four ships namely Mega Ace, MOL Seabreeze, Sakas and APL Bresbane carrying wheat and containers expected to sail on Monday, while two ships namely Courageous Ace and Hyundai Oakland with vehicles and containers respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Two vessels viz Maetiga and Kota Akbar carrying jet oil and containers respectively due to arrive on Monday, while seven vessels viz Patriotic, APL Pearl, TS Nagoya, Thana Bhum, Star Lily and New Baroness with orthpxylene, crude oil, containers, steel coil and chick peas respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.
Three ships namely CV MSC Anafi, CV Maersk George and MT Lahore sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships namely MV Nave Cosmos and MV KT Al-Batross are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of seven vessels viz CV Maersk George, CV MSC Anafi, Khalid Bin Muuhieddin, MV KT Al-Batross, MV Nave Cosmos, MT Lahore and MT Argent Gerbera are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, canola seeds, chemicals, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Three ships namely Dover, Al-Salam-II and Iron Monger-5 carrying wheat, diesel oil and furnace oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two vessels viz Iron Monger-5 and Dover carrying furnace oil and wheat are expected to take berths at FOTCO Oil Terminal and Grain & Fertiliser Terminal (FAP) respectively on Monday. Four vessels viz Patriotic, Diamond Falcon, Al-Salam-II and Four Island carrying chemicals, iron ore, diesel oil and furnace oil are due to arrive at Port Qasim.
