Quetta-Chaman highway restored

Published Updated

The Quetta-Chaman highway has been restored for heavy traffic on Monday after it was closed following the rain and snowfall on Khozak top in Chaman and surrounding areas. The official sources in Chaman said the heavy traffic including the Nato containers carrying supplies for ISAF forces stationed in Afghanistan had been allowed temporarily to proceed to Afghanistan via Quetta-Chaman highway.
However, the slippery and dilapidated condition of highway roads was hampering the smooth flow of traffic on the highway. The slow passage of vehicles loaded with goods is also causing great inconvenience for the local transport as they are also seen stranded in biting temperature of Chaman district.
