Law Minister Babar Awan while regretting the arrest of renowned Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in India, said that those who were talking of "Aman Ke Asha" were actually sabotaging the campaign to restore peace between the two countries.
"Those who are singing love songs with the neighbouring country must understand that their protection and respect only lies in the Two Nation Theory," he said during an informal chat with a group of reporters here at the Parliament House on Monday.
"Those talking about 'Aman Ke Asha' has actually sabotaged the campaign," he added. He said that the arrest proved that 'love songs' were only meant for singing and the separation of the United India could not be change through any 'love song'. He also asked those 'Pakistanis' who frequently visits India that they should keep in mind that their identity was Pakistan.
Awan said that the incident was also a lesson for those who earn from Pakistan and shift their wealth abroad, escaping payment of taxes to the national exchequer, adding that when the country's economy was facing hardship 'some' people shifted their money abroad. "Such money will either sink in Arabian Sea or India Ocean," he added. He expressed the hope that the next song of the singer (Rahat Fateh Ali Khan) would be 'Let's Love Pakistan' upon his release from India.
