Farooq Sattar terms PML-Q a 'real Muslim League'

A delegation of MQM comprising Farooq Sattar, Babar Ghauri, and Ifthikar Rindahwa was given a tumultuous welcome in Pakistan Muslim League (Q) House here on Sunday in which Farooq Sattar termed PML-Q as 'real Muslim League', pointing out that this had shown remembrance of the actual Muslim League of 1947.
The delegation was welcomed by Shujaat Hussain, Pervaiz Elahi, Muhammad Basharat, Kamil Ali Agha, and others. Balloons were released and five maunds of rose petals were showered on the MQM delegation in the welcome ceremony in which Farooq termed Shujaat and Pervaiz Elahi as 'bhai'.
On the occasion, the MQM delegation delivered speeches in Punjabi dialect and Farooq raised slogans 'Aae gea, rolai pai gae, Shujaat-Altaf bazi lae gea'. PML-Q President Shujaat on the occasion said that they stood for vanishing of parochial and other biased politics, bringing of revolution, eradicating inflation, unemployment, poverty in the country. He said that a revolution could be brought about which would eradicate ills, faced by the masses. Shujaat showed his unison with MQM in bringing similar revolution for the people. About 'revolution' in Tunisia and Egypt he said that these revolutions always come against people in governance and power.
Pervaiz Elahi said that the visit of MQM leadership would usher in a new working relationship with his party. He said that in his five-year tenure in as Punjab CM, practical revolution was brought in the fields of health, education, agriculture and social sectors.
He said that in previous 5-year history of Punjab their work for the development and masses was unprecedented. Giving example of removing tax on 12.5 acres agriculture land, small houses of five marlas, establishing new industrial estates, service of new traffic wardens, he said, was exemplary.
MQM delegation also included Raza Haroon, Waseem Aftab, Wasah Jalil, Saif Yar Khan, Shaheen Gilani, Qazi Mubeen, Tahir Mahmood, Tahira Asif, Perveen Akhtar and Qamar Mansur.
Former law minister S M Zafar, Zaheer-u-Din, Anwar Ali Cheema, Muhammad Basharat, Aleem Adil, Ahmed Yar Hiraj, Nasrullah Dareshak, Amir Hussain, Khusro Bakhtiar, Arshad Lodhi, Mian Munir and Akram Chaudhry were also present besides other PML-Q leaders.
Shujaat Hussain gave lunch (Zohrana) on the occasion. MQM leaders appreciated the role of Shujaat Hussain in becoming a bridge between the people of Punjab and Sindh. They also appreciated the dynamic tenure of Pervaiz Elahi as chief minister of Punjab. The MQM delegation also visited Punjab Governor Latif Khosa, who assured them of all co-operation in holding a meeting in Punjab.
