Davis's immunity: Qureshi's remarks to create bad environment, says Firdous

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Firdous Aashiq Awan said on Sunday that Former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi's statements about US national Raymond Davis immunity would create bad environment in the country.
"Shah Mehmood had not showed his concerns when he was Foreign Minister and now these kind of remarks about Davis are not in favour of the country," She told PTV in a brief telephonic talk with a private TV channel.
She said the statements cannot give immunity to any individual as the case is already in the court. Whatever verdict is rendered by the Court about the case, government would accept that, she added.
She maintained that the government would pursue the court proceedings and not the remarks of any individual. The minister said that these types of issues could be debated in the party meetings, but not in the media.
