US MIDDAY: grains mixed

Published Updated

Chicago Board of Trade grain futures were mixed on Friday, with soyabeans lower on pressure from a seasonal shift in export business to South America and a slightly firmer US dollar, traders said. Corn futures rose, holding firm on news from the USDA that exporters sold 210,000 tonnes of US corn to Mexico for 2010/11 delivery. Wheat consolidated, although news that Egypt bought wheat and Tunisia is seeking wheat limited losses.
CBOT trends as of 10:05 a.m. CST (1605 GMT):
-- March wheat down 7 cents at $8.55-3/4 per bushel.
-- March corn up 1 cent at $6.99-1/2 per bushel.
-- March soyabeans down 16-1/4 cents at $14.16-3/4 per bushel.
