PIA employees' strike: government urged to resolve issue at the earliest

Pakistan Workers Federation (PWF) has urged the government to sensibly resolve the issues and problems being faced by PIA employees on an emergent basis to save the institution in the national interest. The federation, in a meeting held here Friday, expressed its solidarity with PIA employees who are currently on strike.
The participants of the meeting asked the government to resolve the issue as soon as possible so that the employees could call off their strike besides ending 'go slow' policy to facilitate the passengers. They lamented that such decision on part of the government would further aggravate the problems of commoners who are already facing crisis because of inflation and unemployment.
They further asked the government to tax the elite class and that rulers should adopt simple way of living in order to eliminate corruption from the society. They urged the government to make appropriate arrangements for recovery of written off loans from the influential people and deal with them as per law.
PWF General Secretary, Khurshid Ahmed, President, Chaudhry Talib Nawaz, Chairman, Muhammad Ahmed, Usama Tariq, Chaudhry Naseem Iqbal, Khushi Muhmmad Khokhar, Salahudin Ayubi, Shafqat Javed, Sajjad Shah, Malik Noor Muhammad and Ijaz Siddiqui were present in the meeting.
