JI condemns decision of salary cut

Published Updated

The Jamaat- e- Islami Secretary General, Liaquat Baloch, has condemned the PPP-PML (N) decision for 25 per cent cut in the government employees' salaries and termed it cruel and stabbing the employees in the back. He said that the prices of essential goods had increased by almost six times during the last three years as price spiral and unemployment had made the life of the common man miserable
He said justice had demanded a proportionate raise in the salaries. However, the government announced only 50 per cent rise in salaries in the current year budget and now there seemed to be no reason for the proposed cut. Liaquat Baloch said that the decision had also exposed the PML (N)'s and its claims for public concern. He said if the PML (N) came to power in the next elections, the things would go worse for the masses.
