Islamabad Police have chalked out a comprehensive security plan for 17th one-day 'Peghember-e-Inqilab' Conference to be held on Friday (today) at G-9 Markaz to meet any eventuality. The security plan was finalised by SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan in consultation with SP (Saddar) Dr Khurram Rasheed, ASP Margallah and Station House Officer Margallah Police Station.
SP (Saddar) Dr Khuram Rasheed will supervise the security arrangements and to be assisted by ASP Margallah Fasial Bashir Memon and SHO Margallah Hussain Muhammad Lasi. Addressing the participants of the meeting, the SSP said that more than 300 policemen would remain engaged for security duties during the conference. Metal detectors as well as walk through gates would be used at entry and exit points of the conference.
Police officers, who will be on security duty, will not be allowed to leave the specified place before end of the conference. The location of conference will be completely covered by the armed policemen. Special deployment will be made at roof tops, while patrolling will be ensured in the vicinity area of the conference.
Police Reserves will remain stand-by for assistance in case of any untoward incident. Parking along with the site of conference will not be allowed and folk lifters have been arranged to remove vehicles if parked along with site of conference. It will be also ensured that all police officers/men deployed on duty to display their service card on chest. Bomb Disposal Squad will ensure technical sweeping at the site of conference before it starts. Plain Cloth police officials will keep watch on the suspicious persons. Monitoring cameras have been installed while ambulances will be there to provide first aid. Fire brigade staff will remain present there and foot patrolling will be ensured by the policemen.
