Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) has appointed Muhammad Waris Niazi as Secretary of the ISE to look after the matters including administrative issues of the exchange. Sources told Business Recorder here on Thursday that the ISE has issued an office order on the appointment of Niazi as Secretary of the Exchange.
According to the office order, pursuant to the orders of the Board of Directors of the Islamabad Stock Exchange dated January 27, 2011, Muhammad Waris Niazi, Deputy Secretary, ISE has been promoted as Secretary Islamabad Stock Exchange in place of Ahmed Noman and he is the authorised signatory of the Exchange to undertake all statutory and allied functions whereas Ahmed Noman would continue to work as GM (Operations).
Sources said that the newly appointed Secretary of the ISE has ample experience of investors' relations and education of investors. He has also looked after the matters of legal and media departments of the exchange. He has written a book on the basics of investment in stock exchange in Urdu. He also has experience of corporate governance and recently visited US Securities and Exchange Commission for attending course in Washington on capital markets.
