Punjab Minister for Population Welfare and PPP leader, Neelam Jabbar Chaudhry has congratulated the Governor-designate Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Barrister Masood Kausar. Neelam appreciated the nomination of Barrister Masood Kausar as Governor and said: "His services as well as struggle for democracy are unforgettable."
Talking to various delegations, Neelam Jabbar Chaudhry said the government was implementing a 3-tier strategy of sensitising population planning in the province through proactive advocacy campaigns, enhancement and improvement in the operational efficiency of service delivery outlets and active community participation in the population programmes. She said that Population Welfare Department is also providing medicines and diagnostic treatment facilities to the people, and so far medicines worth Rs 180 million had been provided to the patients.
She disclosed that 1,483 Family Welfare Centres had been set up while 53 mini hospitals at tehsil levels are going to be established to provide vasectomy services. She asked the public representatives and Ulema to come forward and create awareness among general public against the diseases so that goal of healthy society could be achieved with precautionary measures against diseases.
