Berlin-based German Aid for Afghan Children (GAAC) to construct a school for flood affected children in Kaidaam, district Swat, saying negotiations with the government was in progress. This was stated by Country Director of the organisation, Engineer Alam Shahab during his visit to the flood-affected areas of Khawazakhela, district Swat. Annatte Eroes, wife of the president of German Aid for Afghan Children (GAAC) was also present on the occasion.
She was accompanied by two volunteers' Pia and Anna, real sisters and Country Director for Pakistan and Afghanistan, Engineer Alam Shahab during visit to the flood-affected areas of the flood affected Swat. On this occasion, German Ambassador, Wolf, veteran politicians, Afzal Khan Lala, German military officials, and military attaché at Islamabad.
Engineer Alam Shahab said that negotiations with the government for the provision of land were in progress, saying after the acquiring the land construction work on the school would be started shortly. He further said that the organisation has initiated strategy for rehabilitation of the flood-affected farmers in district Swat.
The officials of the German organisation distributed food package comprising flour, rice, pulses, sugar, ghee, tea leaf and other edibles among 1250 flood affected families. The localities visited by the Ms Eroes were included Tooral, Kaidaam, Balakot and Chamgali. She took a detailed view of the flood-affected areas and expressed sorrow over the miserable conditions of the affected people. She also heard the problems of the residents of the relief camp of Bahrain and directed the details of their requirements. Speaking on the occasion, Annatte Eroes directed the country director for collecting details of the requirements of the flood-hit people and stressed the resolution of the problems of women and children on priority basis.-PR
