Explosion damages 220-KV tower in Jaffarabad

Unknown men attached explosive material with a 220-KV electricity tower of high transmission line in Mamal area of Jaffarabd district some 400 km east of Quetta on Tuesday. Levies sources told newsmen that unidentified men attached explosive device with the 220-KV electricity tower of high transmission line lining from interior of Sindh to Balochistan and detonated it with remote control at 3:30 am at night between Monday and Tuesday.
They, however, said the explosion caused partial damage to the tower and could not disrupt electricity supply. Law enforcement agency (LEA) and Levies Force personnel reached the place, cordoned-off the affected site and also commenced search operation to arrest the suspect. A team of Wapda also examined the affected tower and launched its repairing work. A case has been registered against unknown accused and investigation into the incident was underway.
