The 5th of February is being observed as Kashmir Solidarity Day with a renewed commitment by both parts of the State of Jammu & Kashmir, overseas Kashmiris and Pakistanis. This day holds great significance in the struggle for self-determination for Jammu & Kashmir.
On this occasion I salute the Kashmiris' zeal for freedom and pay homage to hundreds and thousands of martyrs who have laid down their lives fighting for their right, the right to self-determination. I take this opportunity to congratulate my Pakistani brothers and sisters on their firm commitment to the just Kashmir cause. I would also like to thank all those who in their own capacity have raised the Kashmir issue at various national and international forums.
The Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, along with its allies is fully committed to play its part in resolving the Kashmir dispute as per the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and according to the UN resolutions. In this respect I would like to thank the honourable President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, who have assured their full support for the resolution of the Kashmir issue according to the desire of the Kashmiri people.
On this day we reiterate our commitment to Kashmiris' struggle for their right to self-determination. We are thankful to the President and Prime Minister, all political forces and the people of Pakistan for celebrating Kashmir Day to express their solidarity with the Kashmiri people and assure them that the Kashmiris' struggle against illegal Indian occupation will continue till their freedom and till Pakistan and Kashmir become one.
