Pakistan's squash player Farhan Mehboob bowed out of the Case Swedish Open after he lost his quarterfinal match to third seeded Englishman Peter Barker in straight-sets in PSA World Tour International squash event at Linköping Sporthall in Linköping.
Ranked eighth in the world circuit, Peter Barker confirmed his expected place in the semifinals of the event after brushing aside 24-places lower ranked opponent Farhan Mehboob registering a formidable 11-4, 11-6, 11-3 triumph. Earlier, in the first round another Pakistani squash player Aamir Atlas Khan also fell in the first round of the tournament.
Meanwhile, England's world number one Nick Matthew took his anticipated place in the last four of the event but the defending champion was taken the full distance before overcoming unseeded Australian Cameron Pilley. After a tough battle, Matthew recovered from 2/1 down to eventually prevail with a final score of 11-6, 8-11, 8-11, 11-6, 13-11.
