Allama Altaf Hussain Al-Hussaini, Vice President of an Ulema Council Pakistan, Sindh chapter, succumbed to injuries at a private hospital in Karachi on Friday. He was attacked by unknown assailants on Thursday night around 8 pm in Kotri taluka of Jamshoro district.
Immediately after the assault, he was shifted to Civil Hospital Hyderabad and later taken to a private hospital in Karachi in a very critical condition in the early hours of Friday. According to doctors at the Civil Hospital, the deceased had received a single gunshot on his forehead.
By Friday afternoon, around 3:15 pm doctors pronounced Allama Altaf Al-Hussaini dead. The 45-year-old deceased, hailing from Kotri area, remained at important party positions like vice president Muttahida Majlis- e-Amal Sindh and former president Shia Ulema Council Sindh during his political career. So far, no FIR of the incident has been registered. The deceased is survived by a widow, 5 sons and 4 daughters.
