Prominent Pakistani artist of international repute, well-known social crusader and peace activist Jimmy Engineer said here on Friday he is proud of serving the motherland as well as suffering humanity in general and the special children in particular.
Talking to a group of his journalist friends on telephone from Karachi, where he is based for about three decades, Jimmy Engineer said that he regards himself as the unofficial goodwill ambassador of Pakistan and makes determined and concerted efforts to project and plead cause of Pakistan whenever he is travelling internationally and visiting different countries around the globe.
Jimmy Engineer maintained he is more happy and satisfied when he renders some service to the Motherland and fellow-beings in the width and breadth of Pakistan to alleviate their sufferings to the maximum possible extent. He said that as an artist he is determined to paint Pakistan's soft image in the eyes of the comity of nations, as a social worker he is committed to work for the welfare of the suffering humanity in general and the Special Children in particular and as a peace activist he is dedicated to promote peace in the region.
Continuing, he said that he had displayed canvass prints of his selected major artwork including famous Pakistan Movement series of paintings last year in Lahore after lapse of several years. He said the solo exhibition of his major art work was great success as his Pakistan Movement series of paintings and the architectural compositions projecting architecture and cultural heritage of Pakistan and other countries were greatly appreciated by the large number of artists, art collectors and art students who had visited the Revivers Galleria for this purpose.
He said now he is displaying his freshly done drawings of figures, faces and animals at the Revivers Galleria in Gulberg from February 12 onwards. He said that he has done in recent months some 54 drawings but will put on display only selected 12 to 18 drawings for the art lovers and collectors to view and appreciate. He said that he is planning a goodwill trip to the cultural capital of Pakistan, Lahore, in connection with his upcoming drawings exhibition.
