The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Muhammad Zulqarnain Khan on Thursday urged the international community to play its due role for the peaceful solution of long outstanding issue of Kashmir in accordance with the United Nations resolution. He was addressing the participants of National Conference on Kashmir, organised by Jamaat-i-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir here on Thursday.
Raja Zulqarnain said the permanent solution of Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes of Kashmiri people is necessary for lasting peace in the region, adding, the solution will also help bring prosperity for the people of entire region. He said that the international community must feel its responsibilities and take notice of gross human rights violations in the occupied Kashmir.
He paid glowing tributes to the valiant Kashmiri people for their resistance and steadfastness against Indian brutalities and expressed the optimism that the issue would soon be resolved according to the their aspirations, taking to a logical end to their legitimate and indigenous struggle. He lauded Pakistan's efforts for finding a peaceful settlement of the issue and providing moral, political and diplomatic support to them.
Addressing on the occasion, Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir and Secretary General Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman invited all political parties to sit together and make a joint policy on Kashmir issue keeping in view the current situation and ground realities.
"We should move forward on Kashmir issue with realistic approach and with the inputs of all stakeholders." He said the Kashmir committee is ready to arrange a joint conference of all political parties for having one viewpoint on the issue and for its early resolution. He said it is a high time that every countryman should be educated about the importance of Kashmir issue and the sacrifices rendered by the innocent Kashmiri men, women and children.
