Punjab Industrial Estate (PIE) is studying alternate options and pushing forward its plans to establish power plants not only at Sundar but also at Rahim Yar Khan, Bhalwal and Multan Industrial Estate.
PIE is striving to get gas quota and had requested the federal government for special consideration and on instructions of the Chief Minister Punjab, a special case was taken up with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources but it has declined request of the Punjab, said PIE Chairman S. M. Tanveer Chairman Punjab Industrial Estates here on Thursday.
He said that 3-year term of previous Board of Management Multan had expired. Now new Board of Management will be notified shortly. Attention is being paid on the development of Multan industrial estate. In this context, contract of the construction of boundary wall and entrance gate will be awarded shortly while relevant advertisement appeared in national dailies only few days ago. Talking about loans given to PIE by Punjab government and its return, he said that PIE had already returned millions of rupees.
