Formulating educational syllabus: concern voiced over transfer to provinces
Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly, Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan has shown his qualm that transfer of syllabus-making to provinces would deter education in the country, saying this issue had always been a federal subject where a unified approach is taken for collective good of the nation.
Speaking at an Education Talent Award ceremony of Rana Academy here on Thursday, he averred that after the 18th constitutional amendment, issue of syllabus making had become more complicated. He said that without a unified syllabus, a nation could not stand on one platform. He stressed that in order to groom further one could not move forward when applying 50-year old educational policy.
Mashood showed his reservations and apathy on the country being rated 144th in educational standard in the comity of nations. He stated that in order to prove that the nation is development-poised, raising standard of education is mandatory. Besides MPA Dr Zamurd Yasin, a large number of people also participated in the ceremony.
